Pucker Up! 3 Simple Steps for Kissable LipsThe season of love is just about upon us and we all know what that means…MUAH! A little extra love in the air means we need to start prepping those winter-chapped lips for some extra action! Follow these three simple steps, including an at-home recipe for a sweet vanilla lip scrub, and your lips are bound to be in shape for the all the extra action they are about to get!

Exfoliate Your Kisser

Just because the skin on your lips is a little more tender than the skin on our body doesn’t mean they can’t withstand a little friction. Hey, hey, I meant exfoliation people not kissing! At least not yet. Below is a simple recipe for a delicious DIY lip scrub that will help to remove excess dry skin and soften your lips in a jiffy.

Sweet Vanilla Lip Scrub

1 Tbs. Brown Sugar (or White Sugar)

1 Tbs. Olive Oil

1 Tbs. Honey

1/4 tsp. Vanilla Extract

Directions: Stir all ingredients together and place in a small, airtight container.

Use: Use a small spatula to remove about 1 tsp. of lip scrub. Apply the mixture to your lips and gently scrub away dry patches. Here is the best part. You have two choices: wash off the scrub with warm water (boring) or taste away! Yum! You can store any leftover scrub for up to a few weeks as long as you do not contaminate it with dirty hands or water.

 Protect Your Pout

Apply an all-natural lip balm, such as Kissable Scents Lip Balm from Makes Scents Natural Spa Line to instantly soothe and protect  your lips. Look for a balm that contains vegetable-based oils including cocoa butter, coconut oil or sweet almond oil. The key is to apply frequently and to not let your lips dry out because this leads to chapped or even cracked lips. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate and your lips will be ready for hours of smooching in no time!

Key to Kissable Lips

Smile! Who wants to kiss a grumpy old bear? Not me! What is the famous saying? “Smile. It increases your face value.” And it actually makes you happier! A research study conducted by Paul Ekman, PhD, concluded that whether you smile spontaneously or on purpose, the activity in our brains is virtually the same. Smiling actually makes you happy!

By using the above lip pampering tips, your lips are sure to feel softer, smoother and maybe even get you a little more action! You can thank me later.
