The Gift of Giving | Milagro House
What better way to warm your heart than to make the season brighter for those in need? From Tuesday, November 29 through Friday, December 16, 2016, Makes Scents Natural Spa Line will hold its third-annual drive for the homeless of Lancaster County. This year’s drive will support the women and children at Milagro House.
Women come to Milagro House for many reasons. Some are recovering from addiction, some are suffering with mental illness, most of them have been abused. Some suffer with low self esteem, insufficient education, inadequate parenting skills or poor self discipline. All of them are mothers and all of them are homeless.
The program offers women and their children the support they need to achieve success. In addition to housing, their primary focus is education—this is what sets the program apart. But they also provide weekly mental health counseling, budgeting and parenting support. Milagro House is a program that makes a difference in our community as well as in the lives of the women and children they work with.
Women who enter Milagro House come with a commitment and determination to move ahead in their education and gain the skills to support themselves and their children and to manage their lives after they move into their own housing. The women who come to Milagro House have the best possible opportunity to succeed in the new lives they have chosen for themselves.
According to Makes Scents Natural Spa Line Owner, Heather Kreider, “Our entire team is thrilled to take part in this opportunity to help our local neighbors in need by making this season of giving a little brighter for them through this drive. One of our main focuses in our business is giving back to our community and this annual event is a highlight of our efforts.”
To make a donation (see list of needed items) bring donations to Makes Scents Natural Spa Line’s lobby (336 North Charlotte St., Suite 100; Lancaster, PA) Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. between November 29 and December 16.
